It's November 15, and that means we are now midway through NaBloPoMo. And you know what people do on a midway, right? Besides eat too much fried dough, cotton candy, etc., and then throw up on passersby far below from the top of a ferris wheel? That's right! They play games. So let's play a game.
Let's play a game called...
...[insert drumroll here]...
...Name This! [insert cymbal clash here]
Ho, ho! What do you think that is? Do tell. It's the only way you can win.
The person who most completely and accurately answers this question in the comments attached to this post before midnight at the International Date Line on Monday, November 20, 2006, (GMT-12) will win a very special prize. We are talking original, sort of custom-ish fine artwork which hasn't even been created yet but will be, by me, expressly for the lucky winner!
Trust me, it will be small but beautiful, and though there will be a bit of a delay before you can actually take possession of it, you're going to want it.
In the event of a tie, I shall personally write each of the tying entrants' names on a tiny piece of paper, crumple it up, and throw it with all the others into a big bowl. I will then close my eyes, mix them up, and draw one. If your name is on the piece I draw, you will be the winner!
If no one guesses correctly, I will simply choose the answer which most amuses me. So even if you don't have a clue, it is in your interest to enter if you think you want the small, beautiful and unique prize.
Barring catastrophe, the complete answer, with the name of the lucky winner and a more complete description of the prize, will be posted on this blog sometime on Tuesday, November 21, 2006.
Good luck, and may the person who would most like to own at least one piece of my art win!
(Of course, I will be very depressed if no one enters at all. But then I'll get to keep the prize for myself, or sell it, so I expect I'll get over it.)
Is it a pumpkin plant thingy? Daffodils?
Or...is it the FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER? Oh, yes, I think so.

I'm pretty sure it's a pair of bulbs, but why on earth did those spiders decide to turn themselves into bulbs right before beginning their mating dance?

I believe they're rhizomes of some sort - possibly iris.

Hmmm... I'm gonna say asparagus crowns, baby asparagus crowns.
Got here doing a search for TUK shoes, nice blog you have! I bookmarked you and look forward to reading more!

Okay, since you've recently been planting bulbs, I'll say Hyacinths. ;)

Damn, I think I'm too late. Well, and also clueless.

No, dear, you are not too late. The contest ends at midnight tonight at the International Date Line, which I reckon to be something like 7:00 a.m. my time, maybe 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. your time. (I'm not sure if MN is one or two hours earlier than MA.)
Just so you know. Just in case a little clue might come floating your way. ;)
And just for the record, it is positively KILLING me not to go ahead and blurt out the answer, let alone drop hints. Arghhhhhh!!!
