Me: So they're remaking The Bionic Woman as a "new" TV series.
Him: Yay!
Me: Yeah, only I think they're trashing it up.
Him: That's a shame, 'cause the first one was *so* classy.
Me: I know, right? I mean the old Bionic Woman was a dignified person you could almost believe was a real person. But in the preview I saw for the new one, they have the girl -- and she is a girl this time, some under-25 hottie du jour -- they have her waking up in post-op with some male doctor telling her they've had to cut off her legs and an arm, and then the covers are whipped off to reveal that all these things are now bare, naked prosthetics which have somehow magically and bloodlessly been fastened to her living flesh while she slept, and she takes one look and just screams and screams as the scene darkens to "BIONIC WOMAN, coming [fill in the date]." Which makes it look all scary and nightmarish, right? But it's okay, 'cause she's a hottie, so you'll still want to watch.
Him (distracted by flashing Crackberry): Uh-huh.
Me: And you know what I was thinking when I saw this? All over America, amputees are watching this preview and thinking, "Damn! What insurance plan does she have?"
I love the Back Alley Cafe. Must get back there...
Also, must fix the typepad login... :-)

Leslee (LM to the uninitiated), The Back Alley Café is my true love's favorite restaurant in Concord. When he works from home, we usually lunch together there, and we usually hit it at least once each weekend, too. I love the salad bar.
Incidentally, the library book sale is scheduled for June 2. Just sayin'... ;)
Sognatrice, you and your laughter are always welcome. :)
