My Photo

  • a happy, ordinary, middle-aged, suburban woman who paints odd pictures, gardens in a straw hat, lives with the love of her life, is owned by one cat and the ghosts of several others, and walks a little funny 'cause she has a fake leg. She started this website because there's more to life than what we lose, and we need to let each other know what's possible, even if it's only a happy, ordinary life.

Hi! You blog was recommended to me by the AmpuT because, as she put it, you're "one of us"! In the last two days I've been propelled into amputee blogging because of a post I wrote entitled "Top 10 Reasons Why Being an Amputee Rocks".

I really like your blog, and I look forward to reading more from you!

Okay! Hope you are having a "good" not a "ug" break.

Liana, welcome.

Elizabeth, thank you. It was a perfectly nice break until the vomiting and fever began. I haven't thrown up since five or six this morning, though, and I'm feeling gradually less every hour like someone who's been severely beaten, so things are bound to improve.

These complications always arise when one has the MOST to do, you know? Grr. Oh, well. At least it's giving me time to read.

Urg. Get better PDQ, hey?

Thanks, Ron. I'm doing my best.

Sugared Harpy

Oh sweetie, I hope you get better quickly so you can resume a leisurely break.

I miss your blog! How else am I going to get my mad science fix? (actually, mad science happens around here all the time, without any provocation from me).
Get healthy, get stuff done and take good care, OK?
Oh, and by the way this sleeping kitty picture is adorable. When my kitty looks like that, I always say that he is fooling us into thinking he's a nice kitty.

Thanks, ladies. I will refrain from saying the vomiting seems to have abated, because the last time I did that it started right back up again.

or rather

:0= = =

(Okay, that was probably uncalled for. Cleanse your eyes looking at Laurie's "ten pound terrorist.")

Oo, yuck. I was going to wish you a good break. Well, I still will. Feel better.

Thanks, Leslee! You know, now that I'm not throwing up anymore (way to tempt fate, Sara), things are not bad at all, in spite of still being a little weird.
