And it probably really will only last for a moment, but look at this:
Yes, it's true. For now, and probably just for today, June 29, 2008, if you plug the words "blueberry pie" into Google, the second result listed will be my post from last year, the one I only wrote as part of a calculated procrastination project to help me calm down enough to sit down and write about how I finally got around to applying for Mass Health (which, incidentally, proved to be a very, very good thing to do).
We are laughing very hard at this, but at the same time my true love and I both feel a certain pride. No, I haven't cured cancer or brokered world peace. But apparently I have somehow become some kind of authority, just for a moment, on one very nice thing.
For today, anyway.
Heh. Very cool. Bookmarked for future use. Maybe when I'm settled in my new place, and it's cool enough to run the oven, I'll test it out! I love blueberry pie. :-)

It is a good recipe, and you should definitely try some version of it if you find yourself with a cool kitchen, fresh fruit, and a craving that won't quit, but still, isn't this hilarious? I mean, good gad, I'm ranked above Food Network, Dr. Weil, and Southern Food. And how much of that post is all about how I don't even make my own crust, or how my pie doesn't even hold together when you slice it?
hahahaha
My true love is proud because not just my verbosity but his cogent analysis of the difference between the filling in this pie and other blueberry pies has made it all the way to a post ranked second (for today) in a major (seasonal) Google search. In fact, I created this post marking the occasion just for him, just so he could have proof that it happened. :)
Fame. Whee.
I do hope it doesn't go to our heads.

Congratulations! And a great blueberry pie is a great accomplishment, too.

hahaha -- Thanks, Jen! If only it were my accomplishment. My mom's basic recipe and store-bought crust -- but bottom line, I swear, it really is all about the blueberries (which I didn't grow, either, just bought and washed).

Damn. All I have is Spunky Labia. I think every would rather eat blueberry pie...

Ha ha ha -- and because of this comment, now I have them, too! Thanks! ;)
I will come to your blog and make a comment about blueberry pie, just to help out. Google rankings are, of course, the number-one reason why I blog, but I'm not selfish. ;)
