Today's word is
Oh, an excellent and delicious word! A true artist's word. I actually use this one a lot, working as I do in customer service and living as I do in New England. I can't wait to see what you do with it!
Per the excuse posted for yesterday, it may be awhile before I can get mine plonked in here. But don't let that stop you!

Sunday, 2:08 p.m.
Okay, this one I haven't messed with, in spite of temptation. (Whatever overtook me with the previous one seems to have worn itself out there, thank goodness.)
at night
under umbrage of
impending storm
the streets sparkle
and the insides of
other people's houses
glow with life
town built on hills
of asphalt slick
now with wet, soon
with ice, a guest
passing through on
the main road can feel
all the generations of
invitations inside
that have been called
across these streets,
all the pots of soup
and stew that have
been carried steaming
across treacherous
surfaces and through
traffic --
traffic of cars,
traffic of horses,
-- to where
comfort is needed
or a party waits
in daylight
under the dim shine
of cloud-enshrouded sun,
everything reverts
to grey, to shadows,
to just a lot of cars
splashing by in rivers
not stopping
not visiting
the ghosts are still there
but you can't see them
in the daytime
because there's not
enough light
